Print the Patterns

For the patterns, refer to the pullout. To adjust the printing, if necessary, refer to Reducing and Enlarging Patterns.

1.Print the following patterns at 80% (the uppercase A is 3˝ tall):

■Uppercase: T, A, L, K

2.Print the following patterns at 54% (the uppercase O is 2˝ tall):

■Uppercase: T, O, M, E, !

Make the Letters

For sewing techniques, refer to How to Paper Piece.

1.Cut 1 strip × width of fabric for each strip size to start. Cut more as needed.

■Letters: 1¾˝

■Background: 2˝

2.Paper piece the letters.

3.Press, trim, and remove the paper.

Make the Words

1.From letter background fabric:

■Cut 1 strip 3½˝ × width of fabric.

Subcut 3 rectangles 3½˝ × ¾˝ (A).

Subcut 2 rectangles 3½˝ × 1⅜˝ (B).

Trim the remainder of the strip to 2½˝ wide.

Subcut 2 rectangles 2½˝ × ⅞˝ (C).

Subcut 1 rectangle 2½˝ × 1⅜˝ (D).

Subcut 1 rectangle 2½˝ × 1˝ (E).

Subcut 2 rectangles 2½˝ × 1⅝˝ (F).

■Cut 1 strip 1¼˝ × width of fabric.

Subcut 3 rectangles 1¼˝ × 12½˝ (G).
